A Royal Crown for Wales

RCLogoI enjoy it when the Lord backs up a prophetic word with a sign in the heavens. This happened for me in Wales back in 1999. That Spring, I was meeting with a group of pastors at Cornerstone Church in Swansea, and gave them a word about God’s 11:11 time for them. I spoke about God’s plans and purposes for his people in Wales. It involved double blessing and more. Sometime after we left Wales, someone sent me a newspaper headline about the solar eclipse of August 11 that year. It announced that the eclipse would take place exactly at 11:11 AM in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Many saw the eclipse as a sign in the heavens that confirmed the word I had given.

I love it when God backs you up.

Now it has happened again.

The Lord began to speak to me about Wales and a royal crown in April of this year. He began to show this to me by emphasizing Randy Clark’s initials (RC). I knew that Randy was ministering at the New Wine Cymru Leadership conference in Swansea toward the end of May. Obviously, I was even more intrigued because Randy and I share the same initials. The Lord then showed me it was about a royal crown by showing me the Royal Crown Cola logo. I know that this type of communication might sound a bit odd to some, but if God often uses you prophetically, you will understand this is normal communication from the Lord. Just look at Jeremiah’s almond tree, and you will see the Lord’s love of puns and images (see Jeremiah 1:11f).

I didn’t do anything with this word at that time, because I knew that the Lord will often confirm something he has shown me by also speaking to my wife, Dawn. I didn’t tell Dawn about what the Lord was showing me, but waited patiently trusting that the Lord would confirm the word if it was important. I did not wait in vain.

On May 13th of this year, just a few days before I was scheduled to travel to Wales, she told me that the Lord had said that he was intending to restore the royal crown to Wales. Because the Lord had not only confirmed the word, but had also given me more insight, I knew this was an important word. I knew it was a promise for the country, but I did not understand the fullness of what it meant. I knew that since I was an American, the concept of royalty and crowns would speak more to those who lived in their culture than it did to me. So as I have travelled in Wales this year, starting at the New Wine Cymru Leadership conference in May, I have asked the leaders with whom I have connected what they thought this word might mean. I have received answers ranging from apostolic authority to national sovereignty, from playing a key role in preparing the Bride for the King of Kings to full scale revival.

I still haven’t locked down on the fullness of what the Lord means at this time, but I do know he has affirmed that this topic is important. As I wrote above, he has done it again; he has once again confirmed a prophetic word that I have given in Wales with a sign in the heavens.

On August 31 of this year, a new asteroid was discovered named 2014 RC. On September 7, it flew by earth at a distance of about 25,000 miles (a tenth of the distance to the moon). It was a stunning reminder of how many uncharted asteroids there are, and how close they can come to the earth. It was also a sign in the heavens. Its name, 2014 RC, was a confirming sign of the word that the Lord had given to me. If you are tempted to believe that it is just a quirky coincidence that the asteroid also shared the initials RC, you really do not understand the ways of the Lord. This is a sign for those who do understand, and who believe that the Lord still communicates to his people today.

In May and June I spoke to Welsh leaders about the Royal Crown for Wales. On September 7, the Lord sent a sign to confirm this message for the people and leaders of Wales. I am writing this message, explaining the word in far more detail, so that those with ears to hear will be able to hear what the Lord is saying to us.

If I get more on its meaning, I will post more on this topic. For now we know that God’s move in Wales is an important part of his current agenda. I invite you to pray for that country, and that his people there would step into the fullness of their destiny. I also ask that you invite the Lord to speak to you about the meaning of this sign for his people.

It is Time to Reap Now

HarvestWhich would you rather do? Would you rather sow, or would you rather reap? I do not believe this question is difficult. I suspect the majority of us prefer the harvest. It’s not that we hate sowing, it’s just that there is so much uncertainty about it. Will the seed take? Will the weeds choke out the fruitfulness? What about the bugs, and the predators that eat the immature fruit? It’s even more interesting when we leave the realms of physical farming and venture into the realms of the spirit. When we venture there, we aren’t even certain that we will be the ones harvesting the crop. It can feel like all we ever do is sow, and that we rarely see the harvest on a major scale.

I can’t begin to remember the amount of spiritual seed I have sown, nor can I remember every piece of ground into which I have sown it. I have been immensely gratified, even moved to tears of joy, when I see that seed taking root and beginning to produce fruit in the lives of God’s children. However, like many of you who are reading this, I have sown far more into my geographical area, and into the ministry I am privileged to serve, than I have harvested. It has definitely been a time to sow; it has been a time to patiently plant good spiritual seed into whatever ground the Lord has given us, without worrying about whether we would ever see the fullness of the harvest. Faithful servants die to their own ambitions and follow the path that their master has laid out for them—I know I am preaching to the choir; you understand this. For the most part, those who are laboring for the Kingdom have been sowing for future harvest without thought of immediate return. But now it is time to reap.

The Lord spoke those words to us quite recently. He gave them to us in a way that emphasized that the the focus is moving from planting to reaping. Where until now, our major energy has been released in planting, it will now shift to the equally labor intensive job of reaping. We are still going to be working, but we will note that our focus has changed in response to the need.

That doesn’t mean that we are done with the whole seedtime and harvest thing. There is a creation principle which governs how things work in our physical world so that sowing and reaping will continue. There are also spiritual principles which govern how things work in the spiritual world, so we will continue to sow all sorts of seeds, looking toward even more harvest. That is what we do; God’s people sow into his Kingdom and his people. However, the main point that he is emphasizing now is that the harvest will soon be greater than any seeds we have sown could possibly produce. We are going to begin receiving the harvest, not just of what we have sown, but of what others have sown before us. It is time for supernatural results to spring forth from all that seed that countless generations have sown. It is time for the great cloud of witnesses to enjoy watching all their seed spring forth in fruitful harvest. It is also, most definitely, time for Jesus to receive the reward of his sacrifice.

When will this begin? We heard, “It is time for reaping.” That sounds like now, doesn’t it?

A Fountain of Hope Released

HopeSchools out, literally. I have posted very few things since January because I was teaching a first year New Testament Greek class. As any teacher knows, that first time through takes more time than you can imagine as you prepare and plan the lessons for the first time. Some of you may have wondered if the amount of revelation has dropped off. Actually, it has increased, but time constraints being what they are, those revelations did not make it to this blog during the past three or four months. Hopefully, that will change now that school is out.

Notice that word “hopefully” in the previous sentence. The Lord is beginning to teach us about hope. He has stated quite clearly that he is beginning to release fountains of hope in various geographic locations around the world. He actually told us the number he was releasing. I was a bit taken aback by the apparent paucity of hope fountains. This is a very big world with billions upon billions of people populating it, and I couldn’t imagine a limited number of these fountains. However, the Lord also indicated that this was only the beginning.

He also highlighted several other things about hope. It really doesn’t take much hope to make a major change in a person’s life. He has designed us so that hope has a major impact on our lives, and even on our bodies. He went so far as to show us that many heart attacks are caused by a lack of hope. I don’t know about you, but when I hear something like that, my head swims with all the implications. At the very least it implies that when we step into hope, the chemistry in our bodies change to the point that it can impact our arteries, our blood flow, and our hearts. I’ll let the biology majors sort all those details, however, the medical sciences have long known that a patient with hope has a much greater chance than those without it. That is why many doctors strive to leave room for hope.

Hope also has a spiritual impact on us. It is the doorway through which love enters a room. When we hope, our love grows. When we hope that even the most messed up, miserable people can be touched by God and his possibilities, our love for them blossoms because we can imagine the incredible potential God has locked inside everyone of his people. As a result we are willing to sacrifice for them in an effort to unlock that potential (the true essence of love is sacrifice, not warm fuzzy feelings). Thus hope can change how we relate to one another.

Hope is vitally important for the world in which we live. Satan plans to steal our hope, but God will thwart Satan’s plan. He always does. He is releasing fountains of hope for just this purpose. Satan’s kingdom will be shaken by these hope fountains.

The Lord did show us one specific geographic location that, honestly, was breathtaking in its significance. It is a place that is often in the news for the terrorism and bloodshed that constantly occurs there. It is a place where the world has given up hope. As one looks at it, it is in an utterly hopeless mess. But the Lord intends to establish a fountain there. And in so doing, he will demonstrate to the world that his fountains are capable of overcoming utter hopelessness.

I will be watching with anticipation.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV)

The Cusp of the Cuban Revival

ButterflyCubaCuba is a beautiful island nation. Of course it has the natural beauty of any Caribbean nation, but its real beauty resides in its people. If you do not like strong expressions of grateful emotion, you should probably minister elsewhere. If you enjoy being delightfully crushed in the strong embrace of a grateful brother, or having an emotional sister hug your neck, you will enjoy ministering among its people.

The reason I am thinking of Cuba, is that the Lord gave me a dream about it this past week. I had my first dream about Cuba back on November 10, 2004. The Lord told me in a dream that Cuba would begin to transition into economic freedom in seven years. He then told me that this freedom would begin when an eight dollar investment in a savings bond, at the current rate available in 2004, was worth ten dollars. When I woke up from the dream, I checked the current interest rate on a savings bond in the United States. I then did the math and found out that an eight dollar investment would be worth ten dollars exactly seven years—to the day—that I had the dream.

In the Spring of 2011, my congregation hosted a prophetic roundtable that focused upon Cuba. Rick Joyner, the head of our ministry stream, attended the conference. He told us that the Lord had shown him that the most pure revival in history would spring from Cuba. At that same conference, I shared about what the Lord had shown me, and pointed to the following November as a key time for Cuba.

On November 10, 2011, exactly seven years to the day that I had that first dream, a new Cuban law was implemented that gave the Cuban people the right to own, buy, and sell property. That day marked the beginning of Cuba’s ongoing economic renaissance (You can read what I have previously written on this topic HERE and HERE).

So now, fast forward to February, 2014. On that day the Lord gave me a dream about the coming Cuban revival, and how close it is. In the dream, I was standing in a huge barn. It was filled with the sound and activity of construction and repair. It was being prepared for the coming harvest. I knew it was huge because the harvest would be huge. I was being shown the construction, and how close the barn was to being prepared for the harvest. It was almost done.

Of course, the barn represents the Church in Cuba. It is the place that the harvest of souls will be gathered and trained as disciples. It is the place from which the workers will be sent to harvest the fields. It has been under construction, but now it is almost ready.

In the next scene, I was shown the current condition of the fields in Cuba. I was walking across the field to meet two men. As I walked across the field to meet them, I picked my path very carefully. The field was so cracked and dry that there were crevasses that were several feet deep. It was obvious that there had been a severe drought. I had to place my feet carefully so that I would not stumble into a crevasse. But even more importantly, I had to make certain I did not step on any of the crops. As dry as that field was, it still had crops. In fact, I am amazed by how hardy the crops looked. Compared to the size of the field, there were not that many crops, but the men I saw were going to change that. They wanted to end the drought and make the field extremely fruitful.

I believe the two men were angels of harvest. Cuba has experienced a spiritual drought for a season, and yet souls have still been harvested, and those souls have been vital and strong. But compared to the entire population of the island, their number has been small. That is about to change. The harvest angels were there to release life into the field. When they do, the revival that Rick Joyner saw will begin.

I am excited for Cuba. I am looking forward to their revival, of course for the sake of the residents of Cuba, but also because I believe it will impact the world. And since I live in South Florida, I believe we will be among the first of those outside of Cuba to taste of this revival as it impacts South Florida’s Cuban community.

I can hardly wait.

The Earth is Groaning

digitalearthI have a vivid and not particularly pleasant memory from my childhood. My family had been attending a family reunion on a hot summer day at a great uncle’s property several hours drive from our home. These family reunions were always a lot of fun, and for most of the day I enjoyed the festivities, but by early evening I was sicker than the proverbial dog. A flu bug, or more likely, a touch of food poisoning from a salad gone bad in the afternoon heat, brought a miserable end to an enjoyable day. I remember the long drive home. I was sitting in the back seat of the family car feeling absolutely miserable. I needed relief from the misery, and I discovered one thing that did help. If I groaned softly, it took a bit of the pressure off. I actually felt slightly better. Unfortunately for me, I was not alone, and I soon found out that the rest of my family didn’t enjoy listening to my pressure relief valve. Though they certainly felt compassion for me, one of them reminded me that groaning wasn’t going to make me feel better. I was too sick to argue, but if I could have worked up the energy I would have announced, that yes, groaning was making me feel better.

The Lord spoke to us recently about the earth’s pressure relief valve, its groaning. He indicated that we needed to think about the earth’s groans in a bit more literal fashion than was our wont. The passage to which he was referring in this discussion is Romans 8:22, and it speaks about the entirety of creation groaning. It says, “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time” (NIV).  When the Lord spoke to us about this, he narrowed our focus from the entirety of creation down to just our planet. He wanted us to think about the earth, and he wanted us to know that it, too, is groaning.

When I have read Romans 8:22 in the past, I have speculated about what Paul meant in this passage. The apostle Paul wrote about the entire universe being subjected to frustration and groaning. As I have grappled to understand this passage, I have envisioned an impatient groaning as a kind of universal background noise. I never really credited inanimate objects with groaning, rather I would think about the created beings. I would think of the senseless waste and slaughter that takes place in the animal world, and how animals who were created to fill a peaceful role must now kill and be killed in order for species to survive. I can imagine the groaning of the feral female cat in our neighborhood as she loses kitten after kitten to predators, or the groaning of a duck hen being trailed by the ever-shrinking number of ducklings. I can also imagine that, at some core level of being, the predators who must stalk, crush, and kill to survive, must groan over this change to their basic purpose and design.

While I can imagine these things accounting for the groaning mentioned in Romans 8, that is not how the Lord presented it. He didn’t anthropomorphize the earth, that is, he did not give it a groaning human personality, nor did he point to the animal creation. Instead, he showed us that the groaning is a physical manifestation of the planet’s subjection to decay. He directed our attention to the earthquakes, the tsunamis, the mudslides, and the ferocious storms. He pointed to the many different ways that natural disasters manifest, and he showed us that these are the groans of the earth. These are its pressure relief valve. He wanted us to think in terms of the earth groaning whenever we see these natural disasters manifest.

This change in focus helps me understand the dynamics of our time even more fully. The planet itself has been subject to frustration and decay. This physically impacts the planet and its atmosphere in such a negative way that pressure must be released. It must groan. When it does, we call that groaning a natural disaster.

This is a bit of a perspective change on my part, but in another way, it is not. In the Romans passage mentioned above, Paul also added that the creation has been groaning “as in the pains of childbirth.” This is imagery we understand because Jesus used it. When he referred to the end of the Jewish age in Matthew 24, he described the disastrous things that would occur as the birth pangs of the church age. In that same way, Paul reveals that the groans of the earth are the birth pangs for the age to come. This is familiar to us.

In addition, since the tempo of the groans are compared to the pains of childbirth, we can understand what an increase in the tempo of the earth’s groans means. We know that painful contractions increase in intensity and frequency as a birth is about to happen. That means that we can expect to witness an increase in the frequency and intensity of these groans as the day of creation’s liberation draws near. We are literally witnessing the birthing of the new heaven and the new earth. While that will not release celebration over each new disaster, it will help us understand what is happening.

I also believe we can help mitigate the negative impact of these contractions if we are alert to their timing. In that way, we can act as a sort of anesthesiologist. In the same way a deft anesthesiologist’s intervention makes the labor more manageable without hindering the delivery, I believe our active intervention through intercession can help alleviate the pain of these groaning events. We do that by standing in the gap for those in harms way, and by using our authority to mitigate intensity of the contractions in population centers.

The earth is groaning. We will see more evidence of that in the days ahead. If we keep our ears on the ground, we can hear it. If we turn our ears heavenward, we can help ease the negative impacts. The Lord is giving us eyes to see, and ears to hear. Let us use the information he is revealing for his glory, and for his purposes.
