The Kingdom is Smashing Records

KingdomThe Kingdom of God is forcefully advancing, and it’s smashing records along the way. On November 30th, the Kingdom demolished another barrier that should clearly demonstrate that something significant has changed. Florida has gone ten years without being struck by a hurricane. Since records began being kept in 1851, Florida has been struck by a hurricane, on average, every two years. There was one stretch where Florida was not struck by hurricane force winds for five years. There was another of four years. But those stretches are so rare that the average still stands at one hurricane strike every two years for the 165 years since records started being kept.

The current ten-year stretch is unprecedented, but it has not been unheralded. Since 1998, when the Lord first began to speak to our congregation about the authority he has given us over hurricanes and other weather systems, we, along with many others, have picked up the mantle of authority and diligently applied it to the Atlantic hurricane season. For a brief history on this, please read these posts on this site HERE and HERE (or simply put “hurricane” in the search field on this website to read much more). For a much fuller perspective, click over to Amazon (HERE) and spend $2.99 on the Kindle version of a book* I authored—or order the hard copy— that presents irrefutable evidence that God has called us to advance the Kingdom by taking on hurricanes, other weather patterns, and much more. I have repeatedly stated, in print, video, and by other means that if we use the keys of authority that God has given us, we will be able to impact hurricane patterns. I have travelled to many different countries with this message since 1999, and have written a book about it (and I am currently writing another). The Kingdom of God is forcefully advancing, and this is just one obvious sign of it.

The current ten-year hurricane drought is either a stunning coincidence, an unparalleled stretch of serendipity that just happened to begin as we began training people throughout Florida to take authority over weather patterns, or the Kingdom is advancing. If you realize that our emphasis on this authority was initiated by the Lord in 1998, and that it began with an accurate prediction of the location of hurricane strike, the hurricane’s name, and the fact that it would hit by surprise, facts that were so disseminated throughout South Florida in the six months before the storm hit that a local NBC affiliate broadcast an interview about it two weeks before the storm even formed (thus providing absolute historical proof of everything I am writing about it), one would have to be willfully ignorant to ignore God’s hand in all of this. His Kingdom is advancing. This ten-year stretch is one of the signs of it.

So I am celebrating the ten-year hurricane drought, while at the same time planning to do everything that I can to extend it to eleven years next year. Since I know that so many other Kingdom-minded people are doing the same throughout Florida, I know that we have a very good chance of continuing the record. Ten years from now, I would love to be writing about the twenty year hurricane drought, but that will only happen if God’s people continue to use the Keys of the Kingdom that they have been given.

I am confident that they will not only continue to use those Keys to exercise authority over weather patterns, but also to impact every other area that God’s Kingdom must come. Those who violently fight their own unbelief, their own inertia, and their own lack of Kingdom vision will continue to see the Kingdom advance against all obstacles. His Kingdom will come, on earth as it is in heaven.

* I feel it is important to mention that neither my congregation nor I make any money from the sale of this book. The Lord has clearly shown us that Hurricane Irene was a Jericho event for us. In the same way that all proceeds from the conquest of Jericho were devoted to God, so also the proceeds of any sales are devoted to God. Any profits from sales enable us to give even more copies away.

The Winnowing Has Begun

TrainsThe Body of Christ is currently being separated into two groups. One group will be used in amazing ways in the days ahead. They will unleash the power of the Kingdom of Heaven with such love and grace that the world will stand in awe that such things are being done by mere humans. Those in this group will become God’s end time agents who will help turn Satan’s kingdom upside down, and will initiate the restoration of all things (see Acts 3:19-21). The other group will find themselves on the outside of God’s purposes, looking with longing and regret on what could have been.

The good news is that the group you join is your choice. The bad news is that many are currently choosing the path to disaster.

The Lord recently gave us a picture of the choice that we now face. The picture was that of two trains that run on parallel tracks side by side. The trains look almost the same. They appear to be going to the same destination. For all practical purposes they will run in the same direction at the same speed for quite some distance. But in the end, only one of the trains will get to its destination. The other will suffer loss.

The Lord then said that the two trains are the Encouragement Train and the Discouragement Train.

The Lord has warned us that there is a wave of discouragement coming. He issued a strong warning that it will be such an intense wave of discouragement that many will begin to waver. Even as he gave us this advance warning, he mentioned the Discouragement Train and said, “Don’t get on that train!”

I know this warning is necessary. I have been surprised at the amount of discouraging hype that has recently been released in the body of Christ. Relatively prominent teachers have released predictions about the times in which we live. I do not know their intent, or the full extent of their teaching, but I have seen the results. I have seen an onslaught of fear and self-focus among God’s people. Fear and self-focus are not a fruit of the spirit. Instead, they are evidence that we have boarded the Discouragement Train. If you have given in to fear and self-focus, get off that train right now!

Do not misinterpret what I am saying. I believe that there are certainly difficult times ahead. But one thing I know, we do not get through those difficult times by endlessly parroting what this moon or that seven year cycle portends for the future. Difficult times are upon us. Get over it. The world is under judgment. Get over it. We overcome all of it by focusing on the Kingdom authority we have been granted in Jesus Christ. We overcome it by focusing on our mission and purpose in a lost world as we lay down or lives for those around us. We overcome it as we have always overcome every obstacle in this new covenant era—by the blood of the lamb, the word of our testimony, and not loving our lives so much that we shrink back from laying them down if necessary.

Jesus told his disciples, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you” (Luke 10:19). He said that before his victory on the cross. Now that he has crushed Satan’s head, we have even more authority, and more power to overcome. We are overcomers. There is nothing that Satan can unleash against the Body of Christ that is able to overcome it. The gates of hell, all the evil that Satan is capable of marshaling against the Church, will not be able to stand against the power of God’s overcomers. Rather than focusing on the judgment and the evil, why don’t we focus on our job description? Why don’t we extend the Kingdom of God and the shelter it provides (see Matthew 13:31-32) wherever we go?

The Lord showed us another picture recently. He showed us that he was setting out nets to trap those who were releasing fear among his people. When he told us this, I knew that some of the very things that have recently released so much fear in the Body of Christ were part of the trap. As the Lord showed us the trap, he said, “It is a huge challenge when you hang around chickens. Chickens have a tendency to make you doubt and second guess yourself. They are not encouraging at all. They’re always skeptical, and they are always chickens.”

The Lord is beginning to draw the chickens away to the Discouragement Train so that the chickens do not hinder the people of God. Then his people will board the Encouragement Train and can encourage each other once the chickens have been separated in the current winnowing.

There is a time soon coming, and even now upon us, where the righteous will shine forth as the sun exercising the authority of the Kingdom of Heaven. However, before that can happen, the winnowing must take place. Those who claim to be a part of God’s Kingdom will board the one train or the other. Those who preach fear and discouragement will be removed, just like the ten spies who discouraged Israel (see Numbers 14:36-38). It is a time like that which Jesus prophesied in Matthew 13 when he said,

“The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
“Then THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SHINE FORTH AS THE SUN in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear. (Matthew 13:41-43 NASB)

If you are on the wrong train, I don’t believe it is too late to jump off, but now is the time. Get on the right train.

Shameless Plug for Drinking Water in Kenya:

A friend of mine, Pat Selvey, is living in Kenya digging wells to save the lives of children there. He asked if I would advertise an opportunity to purchase a drilling rig. The ministry has already raised most of what is needed for the drilling rig. Here is what Pat wrote, and a few excerpts from the website:

There is a water crisis in Africa. In many areas waterborne disease is the biggest killer of children under the age of 5. Water born disease is preventable. Clean drinking water for 150,000 school children requires that Hydrating Humanity purchase a deep-hole drill rig. We have been able to raise over $265,000 so far. Our goal is to raise $300,000 as quickly as possible to get this drill rig purchased and deployed into the Kuria School District in Southwest Kenya.

Would you consider being a part of raising the additional money needed? Every dollar given in this fundraiser will be used to purchase this critical equipment. Your gift of $10, $50, $100, $1,000 or $10,000 gets us one step closer to helping kids get clean water for the first time ever! It truly is a gift that will keep on giving!

Hurricane Joaquin Prayer Thoughts

JoaquinJoaquin means Lifted by Yahweh. For that reason, I would be a bit nervous if I lived near Washington. That city has done enough in recent history to warrant a reminder that the Lord is the one who is in charge, no matter what the three branches of our government tend to think. Hurricane Joaquin would not be a subtle reminder.

When the Supreme Court made gay marriage a civil right, it defied millennia of social consensus, and more importantly, God’s intent for marriage. At that time, I pondered whether a good-sized hurricane might bring a measure of humility to the judicial branch of our government. Now that Washington is actually included in a hurricane’s track, I’ve pondered that thought again, and concluded that I really don’t want to find out what a severe hurricane impact might do for Washington’s spiritual atmosphere. For the sake of all those who live there, I would much rather see mercy released instead of judgment (See James 2:13). I suspect that the people who live in that region would agree with me.

As I have observed Joaquin’s stunning increase in strength, and the associated reports of potential damage to the east coast, I have found myself interceding. While I recognize that the areas that are threatened have been hit by hurricanes in the past, I also understand that those areas are not built to withstand such storms in the same way that we are in South Florida. Even with our strict hurricane codes, we do not appreciate hurricanes of any size. I can’t imagine what it is like in areas that do not have the same types of codes.

For that reason, I thought I would write about what I would do if I lived in areas that are under threat from Joaquin. This is what I would do if I lived anywhere on the East Coast of the United States north of South Carolina, and I had no other information from the Lord about this particular storm.

  • I would begin to watch the National Hurricane Center site for its frequent updates (I would not watch the television updates—they tend to exaggerate and impart fear to improve their ratings). I would most definitely read the discussions that go with each NHC update. Often those discussions reveal things that can be incorporated into prayer.
  • I would begin to pray against this storm personally, and at every regularly scheduled meeting of my congregation. I would encourage my congregation to pick up the Keys of authority and use them to turn this storm out to sea.
  • The Keys of Authority work best with agreement (see Matthew 18:18-19), if my area of geographic influence was included in the cone of uncertainty for the three day track, I would call a prayer meeting for the first available time that interested parties could participate. If my geographic area was included in the five day track of a hurricane, I might call a prayer meeting depending on the circumstance, but at a minimum, I would alert my congregation that we may be having a prayer meeting soon so that they can plan accordingly.
  • When we met for prayer, I would build faith by recounting the many storms that our prayers have turned in the past. If I did not have a personal testimony in this arena, I would use testimonies that other Christians have. I most definitely would show this video from an NBC affiliate in Florida to reinforce that storms can be impacted by prayer: Hurricane Irene 1999. You might also watch this hour-long message that recounts story after story of what my congregation has done with the Keys of Authority and weather patterns: Picking Up the Keys. If you take the time to watch it, you will have increased faith to take on any storm.
  • When we met for prayer, I would acknowledge before the Lord that my geographic area is an area filled with wickedness (so is yours). Then I would pray for mercy, and recognize the fact that the Lord is always looking for intercessors to stand in the gap for their geographic area. No matter how wicked my area is (in my opinion), I would remember that the Lord is the one who initiated Abraham’s intercession for Sodom by telling him about the approaching storm. The Lord is always offering us opportunities to stand in the gap.
  • When we met for prayer, I would ask, seek, and knock on behalf of my area. At the same time, I would realize that this is not using the Keys. This is simply approaching the throne of grace with confidence because Jesus has opened the way.
  • When we met for prayer, I would also use the Keys. I would address the storm by name, and lock the door to any damage or destruction it might cause. I would raise hedges of protection against hurricane force winds and storm surges. I would call in shearing winds, dry air, cooler ocean currents, and whatever else is available to degrade the storm. I would use information from the NHC discussions about hindrances to the storm to strengthen those hindrances. I would command the storm out to sea away from my coastline. I would send the storm to the UK where they can use the rain (Okay, I really wouldn’t do that last one—that was a joke for my readers from the UK who have made it this far in the article . . .).
  • When we met for prayer I would let those who understand our authority also pray, so that agreement might be built. I would encourage them to pray in faith, even repeating things that have already been prayed as a form of agreement.

The above is a basic outline for our practices, developed over more than fifteen years of praying with effect about hurricanes and other weather patterns. I would like nothing better than to have intercessory voices up and down the east coast using this, or whatever outline the Lord has given them, to bring protection to their regions. As God’s people step into their authority, storms like Joaquin lose their ferocity, and mercy is extended to entire geographical regions. In that way, mercy can triumph over judgment.

UPDATE (10/02/15): When I wrote this yesterday, I assumed, incorrectly, that the storm was only going to brush the Bahamas. It has become a category four and is pounding the Bahamas. I know many have been praying for the Bahamas as they have watched what the storm is doing. I simply wanted to acknowledge that fact, and encourage continued prayer for the people of the Bahamas.

Tropical Storm Erika

blueberriesTropical Storm Erika has the attention of most of Florida. A tropical storm, especially one projected to become a hurricane, will grab your attention when its potential path covers most of our state. However, as forecasters point out, there are still major uncertainties about Erika’s future. One of the biggest variables that forecasters have is us. Will we stand in our authority, or won’t we?

We have had a problem the last several years. We haven’t had enough storms to pray against. I didn’t say it was a painful problem, just that it was a problem. When you don’t exercise your authority in a particular area in a specific way, you can begin to wonder if you have some rust around the edges of your prayer.

So earlier this week, even though Hurricane Danny was never projected to be a real threat to our area, we practiced a bit on Danny. On Sunday morning, the 11:00 AM report predicted that Danny would hit Cuba before becoming extra-tropical on Thursday (see graphic at right). However, I invited the congregation to step into intercessory authoritySundayAM with me and “mess with” Danny (and the National Hurricane Center) by commanding Danny to disintegrate. We then picked up the keys, and commanded Danny to disintegrate. We didn’t pray long, but we prayed with faith. From that point on the Hurricane Center’s forecast reflected a disintegrating Danny until it ceased to exist on Monday morning, days earlier than the forecast had stated when we prayed on Sunday morning.

You can imagine that I felt pretty good about our effectiveness when I saw the impact of our prayer. However, the Lord soon spoke to us about our real work. He let us know it would be Erika. He told us Erika was going to try to take a bite out of us. That let me know that while Danny was a normal storm, Erika has been sent with an evil agenda.

As a result, we have been praying and watching Erika since then. We held our first congregational prayer meeting on Thursday evening. A group of us gathered together to take up the keys of authority that Jesus promised his church would wield (see Matthew 18:18-19). We stood in the promises of Jesus, and commanded Erika to leave us alone. We did not pray out of desperation, we prayed from victory. Jesus won the victory, and has given authority to his Church. When we pick up the keys, we are praying from his victory. We are releasing the results of his victory into the world (on earth as it is in heaven).

I’m writing this shortly after Thursday’s prayer meeting. I am looking forward to see the result. In the meantime, especially if you live in Florida, I invite you to pick up the keys with us. Jesus paid an awful price to give us authority. Let us honor him by using it.

Use the Keys, Stop Bad Things

blueberriesThe avian influenza that ravaged the Midwest has been stopped in its tracks. No new cases have been detected since June 17. When I first warned of what the Lord has shown us about this epidemic back in April (see “A Turkey Shortage for Thanksgiving?“), just over one million birds had already died or been culled. I stated that if we did not pray, we would see far more birds die. According to United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)  information, the epidemic ended up claiming 48.1 million birds through mid-June. While the U.S. Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, is not ready to declare that the outbreak is over, I believe that God’s people have turned the key in the lock.

In an update released on July 19, the USDA admitted that it still has not nailed down how the virus spread. The reason they are puzzled is that large bird farms have fairly good biosecurity procedures. But in spite of that security, this epidemic rampaged throughout the Midwest. Since the Lord told us back in February that this plague had spiritual roots, I’m not surprised that they are having difficulties nailing down the transmission vectors. Medical authorities are at a disadvantage when things have spiritual roots. That is why we need to use the keys of authority that the Lord has provided us (see Matthew 16 and Matthew 18).

I personally believe the turning point came on June 2. Up until June 2, the spread of the virus was continuing unchecked. If you check the USDA website, you can see that detections of newly infected flocks were continuing unabated at that time (see full chart).

PoultryChart1

However, during the first week of June, hundreds of Kingdom warriors from around the United States came together at Heritage International Ministries in Fort Mill SC. We gathered for the MorningStar Fellowship of Ministries retreat. These are spiritual veterans who have ministries across the United States devoted to building the Kingdom of God. They have faith, and most have a growing understanding of the keys we have been given. Since they represented regions from around the United States and the world, the geographic authority represented in those meetings was massive.

On Tuesday afternoon, June 2, we held a prophetic panel. Dawn and I had been invited to be a part of the panel, and to share what God had been showing to us. By June 2, almost 45 million birds had died or been culled. I knew part of my job description on that panel was to explain what the Lord had revealed to us, and then to stand in intercessory authority with all those marvelous spiritual warriors so that we might crush this outbreak of avian influenza. We did just that.

I believe the tide turned that day. When you have flocks of a million birds, the detection procedure takes time. Flocks would have been infected days before the flu is detected, and perhaps even before that, especially when you are referencing a commercial flock of a million birds. When you factor that into the charts on the USDA website, you can see that my belief that June 2 was the turning point has merit.

PoultryChart2

My belief has even more merit when you realize that all those Kingdom warriors returned to their homes and ministries across the United States and used the keys in their local settings for the next several weeks.

By June 5th, the back of this epidemic was broken. One backyard flock was diagnosed on June 9, but obviously a backyard flock could have been infected for quite some time before detection. Since the June 17 detection involved a flock of a million birds, we have no way of knowing when it was infected, only that it was the last flock in which avian influenza was detected.

The USDA is officially stating that they believe the summer heat has stopped the flu outbreak. However, they are certainly not a credible source on this topic, simply because they do not even know how it has spread. Human hubris is amazing sometimes. We don’t know how it spread, but we think we can tell you why it stopped. Remember that they are ill-equipped to deal with issues that have spiritual roots.

I believe that God’s Kingdom people have won a great victory. But we may not be done yet. Scientists at the USDA are nervously looking ahead to the fall migratory season with more than a little trepidation. They are concerned that droppings from infected migratory birds could once again spark an epidemic. I too am concerned, simply because the Lord showed us the spiritual roots of this epidemic before it even started. It is a result of lack of thankfulness in our nation. Until we deal with that spiritual issue, those with Kingdom authority must be prepared to use their keys as soon as they hear of reports that indicate another outbreak is underway. In fact, it would not hurt if we locked the door preemptively to any such scourge.

There is another reason that it may not come back in its current form; the Lord has already shown us what the enemy is seeking to attack next. The enemy of our souls (and of our food supplies) will always look for openings. When we have used our spiritual authority to shut one door, he goes looking somewhere else. The Lord showed us that he is exploring how to impact the cattle industry. So as you are praying for chickens, you might also use your keys to bring protection to the beef and dairy industry.

I believe we have experienced an incredible victory for the Kingdom of God, and for the people of this United States for whom we stand in the gap. As with all spiritual warfare, this doesn’t mean we can let down our guard. In fact, we can use our new found faith and authority, something we receive with every victory, to extend the Kingdom even further. The Kingdoms of this world are becoming the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ—and he has given us the privilege of accomplishing it in his name.
